Jurisprudence

The law library is under the supervision of the Mari El Republic President. The library includes:
- a reading room;
- a subscription department;
- a legislation systematization office.
In 2002 the library-depositor of the United Nations was open. There are 19 workplaces in the computer hall of the electronic information.
The library contains an electronic catalogue of books and the electronic catalogue of bibliographic descriptions of articles from periodicals.
The library contains 94 000 books and receives about 150 periodicals.

Information centre of new teaching technologies includes laboratories:
- multimedia teaching materials,
- video presentations,
- distance training,
- teaching methods of preparation for litigations,

FLegal aid clinic
During the past 12 years, students working in the clinic have provided free legal aid for 26, 000 citizens. Since 1999 the clinic has expanded to provide legal consultations in rural areas and penal institutions of the republic.
